Veronika Fleyta’s career is one that has taken her from the beach parties of Vietnam to the international dance music stage. Her story began on the catwalks of Paris and Moscow, where she became enticed by the electronic soundtracks to the shows she walked, and which soon developed into a passion that has since taken her around the planet as a house DJ.
Now playing regularly at Blue Marlin Ibiza, Veronika’s unique deep house sound began to take form in 2011, in the small Vietnamese beach village of Mui Ne, where she would DJ at parties held by the local Kite-surfing community. A keen kite-surfer herself, Veronika rode the waves of her increasing profile and soon made the jump to Kazantip festival in Crimea, where she played a set warming up for Laurent Garnier, and has appeared as an annual resident ever since.
By this time her passion for electronic music had developed into a career option, and a string of sets at clubs in Moscow, Kiev and Paris led to her being signed to Akbal music by its owner Robbie Akbal. She now regularly shares bills with names like Technasia, Hot Creations boss Jamie Jones, and David August.
2015 saw her gathering further momentum and journeying to Ibiza where her sun kissed tropical sound was welcomed with open arms by the clubbers at Blue Marlin. However, her mixes are not without their edge, and her versatility as a DJ was demonstrated during a stand out deep-house set at October’s Amsterdam Dance Event, and again at Burning Man Moscow Decompression 2015 incarnation.
In the studio, Fleyta is steadily developing a distinctive sound, with her track ‘Sun Warrior’ set to be released 14th of march 2016 through Akbal Music.
The Russian name ‘Fleyta’ translating into flute, it is no surprise her sound is characterised by its strong sense of melody, simultaneously comfortable in both open-air parties and intimate late night dance floors.
With Veronika now dividing her time between London and Ibiza, she played at Blue Marlin’s London New Year party alongside Art Department, and her name appeared on the BPM 2016 line-up in Mexico, she played regularly at Ibiza Sonica Radio, it seems that the four year journey from humble beginnings is still only in its first act, with much more yet to come.
